‘Tis the season

‘Tis the season of ice packed roads, cold toes and overcoats. Hats and boots and scarves and gloves. Now is the time to fall in love. Seat warmers and blankets, cocoa by the fire. Soup and runny noses, sleds and missing home. Movies with the curtains open, ignore the screen, watch the storm.

I have the perfect love to keep me company this winter. I wrap up in a blanket with my tea or cocoa and grab a book. Read to my heart’s content. There’s no other person to make me too warm. There’s no one’s comfort to worry about but my own. My book won’t leave me if I’m in a bad mood. I found the perfect love.

Yesterday’s unexpected choices took me unexpected places and that was amazing.

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.
